SINOPSE: Bastião, filho de escrava, e Inácio, futuro herdeiro de um Engenho de Cana, são amigos até suas condições sociais o separarem. Um triângulo amoroso entre os dois e Elza vinte anos depois culmina em uma luta pela sobrevivência.
SYNOPSIS: Bastião, son of a slave, and Inácio, the future heir of a sugar mill, are friends until their social conditions separate them. A love triangle between the two and Elza twenty years later culminates in a struggle for survival.
